WOII Geoffrey Hunter

The Association has been advised that Geoff Hunter passed away.

Geoff’s funeral took place on the morning of  13th of August. (a week on Thursday)

Because numbers were restricted in the Crematorium Chapel, it had been planned for Geoff’s funeral cortege to go past, and briefly stop, at the Regimental Memorial where all those in the Regiment who wished to pay their respects to Geoff would gather.  Calderdale Council have picked up that there was going to be a considerable number there and probably far more than they would consider safe under the current Covid 19 guidelines.

As a consequence the Council has informed Geoff’s family that they can not allow Geoff’s cortege to go via the memorial.

What has been proposed as an alternative is for a loud speaker/public address system to be put up at the Crematorium so that those wishing to attend but not able to go into the chapel can follow the service from outside.
