Cyril Copley

Cyril Copley, aged 98, a former Corporal in 1DWR, passed away on Sunday 15th November, 2015.
Cyril saw active service with the ‘Dukes’ during WW2 in Italy, attached to the American Army, he was proud of serving with the Regiment at the Battle of Anzio.
On Cyril’s demobilisation at the end of the war he became a self-employed cobbler for many years until his retirement.
Apart from his service time with ‘The Dukes’ Cyril lived his entire life in Barnsley.
