It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the passing of WO2 Neil Wood.
A much loved husband, son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, stepfather and friend. Neil passed away Friday 1st December after a sudden illness.
Ex-WOII Neil Wood joined the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, Alma Company 3 Platoon in 1987, whilst the Bn were serving in Northern Ireland (Palace Barracks). He served the Regiment faithfully for 22 years with tours of duty in Northern Ireland (87-89), Bosnia (94), Kosovo (2001) Iraq Op Telic (2003) Iraq Op Telic 5 (2004). Completing his service with the Yorkshire Regt as CSM Hook Company.
The Funeral will take place at the Huddersfield Crematorium, 64 Fixby Rd, HD2 2JF on Thursday 21st December. Where possible the family would be grateful if those attending can be dressed in Dukes tie and blazer, with medals.
The Four Sons pub is ideally located for those wishing to meet prior to attending the service.
The service will commence at 14:45hrs, please be seated promptly. Upon completion of the service there will be a celebration of life which will take place at Huddersfield football stadium, in the big red suite, HD1 6PQ.
The Family would like to invite all past and present serving members of the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment and Yorkshire Regiment to attend the the funeral service and the celebration of life event on Thursday 21st December.
