Op Grapple Memorial – Update

This is an update to the main Op Grapple Memorial proposed for Gorazde. See here:- https://www.dwr.org.uk/2022/05/24/gorazde-bosnia-memorial/

The deployment of the 1st Battalion, The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment to Bosnia on Op Grapple in March 1994 contributed hugely towards the success of the UN’s involvement at an incredibly challenging time in the civil war then engulfing the region. It is proposed that a permanent memorial to those who served and died, including Pte Shaun Taylor, Corunna Company, 1 DWR is erected in Gorazde, Bosnia. Money is being raised to support the project through a grant from 1 DWR Trustees and from donations and charity funding raising from across former members of The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment. Similar efforts are being led by the SAS and RGBW Regimental Associations and veterans. The Organising Committee plan to unveil the Memorial in Gorazde on 27-30 April 2023 and would like to offer two travel packages to Dukes who would like to attend; A Charity Ride Package (£895) and a Memorial Package (£415) which covers all costs during the tour, less food, drinks, and flights.
